Pre-K Education (4 & 5 year olds)

UCA offers a Bible-centered, play-based Pre-K education.  Through play and exploring God's world, children will learn to appreciate their Creator, develop relationships, and enhance their creativity and problem solving skills while being prepared for their academic years.

As to our namesake, these youngest students are UNITED with every other student, all the way up through 12th grade. We are intentional about including them in school activities such as chapel services, mission projects, the Big/Little Buddy program, and the House system.

Spiritual

Daily Bible classes and weekly chapel services help build familiarity of God's word. Learning to talk with God through prayer helps them to feel His presence. Fruits of the Spirit are woven into daily learning to help cultivate the character of Christ in each child.

Social/Emotional

As students begin to recognize and regulate emotions, they will learn how to be part of a community. Our teachers guide them through varying social skills such as proper greetings and eye contact. This enhances the ability to build friendships and resolve conflict.

Physical

In this stage of development, we focus on refining elements of self-care and body control, in addition to fine and gross motor skills. Everything from proper hygiene, to balancing, to writing and drawing are addressed each day to solidify these young student's abilities.

Academic

Language and literacy enrichment aid in reading readiness as the students learn to value stories and sequencing. This strengthens listening and communication skills. Exploration of mathematics rounds out their journey to prepare for the academic years ahead.

June LaBelle - Pre-K Teacher

"I have always believed that teaching is a calling from the Lord but I also recognize that teaching in a community like UCA is a God given privilege. As Jesus commanded Peter in John 21:15-17 (Feed My Lambs) I take on this command into my daily interaction with my students. My passion is to prepare these little ones to become great Godly leaders in their communities, states and the world. I desire to see them stand out as they occupy whatever mountain of influence God has called them to with godly zeal and passion. "
